Everything you need to know about going solar or adding a battery with Innovate Electrical and Solar. Can't find your answer? Get in touch and we'll help directly.
How much does a solar or battery system cost?
It depends on your roof, energy usage and the system size that suits your home or business. We provide a quote tailored to your property — get in touch and we’ll walk you through the numbers.
Am I eligible for the federal or NSW battery rebate?
Most NSW households are eligible for the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which currently discounts eligible battery systems by around 30%. Eligibility depends on your system and circumstances, so ask us to check for you as part of your quote.
Do you offer finance or payment plans?
Yes. We offer finance through Brighte, Plenti and the NSW Home Energy Saver Program for eligible customers, so you can spread the cost of your system rather than paying it all upfront. Specific eligibility criteria apply.
How long does a typical installation take?
Most residential solar and battery installations are completed in one to two days, depending on system size and roof complexity. We’ll confirm timing with you before the job starts.
What brands and equipment do you install?
We only install premium, Tier-1 equipment from trusted manufacturers, including GoodWe, Sigenergy, Anker Solix and Tesla. We don’t cut corners on components, because the cheapest part is rarely the best long-term value.
What areas do you service?
We’re based in Sydney’s Hills District and service a wide area across Sydney — from Baulkham Hills to Castle Hill, Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Dural, Blacktown, Seven Hills, Winston Hills, Glenwood, Northmead, North Rocks, Carlingford, Epping, Hornsby, Thornleigh, Pennant Hills, Cherrybrook, Turramurra, Ryde, North Ryde and surrounding suburbs. Contact us to confirm we cover your area.
Are you licensed and accredited?
Yes. Innovate Electrical and Solar is a fully licensed electrical business. We use our own in-house SAA-accredited solar and battery design and installation teams. We are also a NETCC Approved Seller, and our team is fully licensed, with over 15 years of experience delivering electrical, solar and battery installations.
Do you provide support after installation?
Yes. Our team provides ongoing support after your system is installed — if you have questions about performance, maintenance or an upgrade down the track, we’re a phone call away.
Will my solar system still work on a cloudy day or at night?
Panels still generate some power on overcast days, just less than in full sun, and nothing at night. This is where a battery makes the biggest difference — it stores your excess daytime solar so you can keep using it after dark instead of drawing from the grid.
What's covered under warranty?
Workmanship and product warranties vary by component and brand — panels, inverters and batteries are each covered separately by their manufacturers, on top of our own installation warranty. We'll give you the exact warranty terms for your system as part of your quote.
Do I need to upgrade my switchboard or meter?
Sometimes. Older switchboards or single-phase meters occasionally need an upgrade to safely support a new solar or battery system. We check this during your site assessment and include any necessary upgrade in your quote — no surprises.
Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
In most cases, yes. We can assess your existing solar system and recommend a compatible battery to retrofit, so you can start storing your excess solar instead of exporting it to the grid for a low feed-in rate.
What maintenance does my system need?
Solar and battery systems need very little maintenance — mainly keeping panels reasonably clean and having the system periodically checked to make sure it's performing as expected. We offer maintenance and health checks if you'd like us to handle it for you.
